New Zoning By-Law Approved

A new zoning by-law, to replace the 1997 zoning by-law, has been approved. The new by-law can be found here. Here are the links to associated map of the municipality and village.

Information on the 2013 Financial Plan, plus other municipal financial information, can be found here.

 

Secondary Plan

On February 22, 2011, Council adopted by-law 13-2010, which is a secondary plan for the village of St. François Xavier. The intent is to provide a plan for sustainable growth and infrastructure development within the village for the next 20 years. The document and accompanying map can be found here.

 

Water Utility

A new public information booklet on the Cartier Regional Water System has been released. You can view or download this document here.

 

The municipality is required to prepare an annual report on the water utility. The report for 2012 can be found here. The 2011 is here, the 2010 report is here, the 2009 report is here and the 2008 report is here.

 

The water provided by the Municipal Water Utility is produced by the Cartier Regional Water Co-op Inc. (CRWCI) at its plant near St. Eustache. The 2012 annual report can be found here. Older reports produced by the Co-op are here: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.

Emergency Preparedness

The RM of St. Francois Xavier is part of the C.a.S.H. emergency preparedness committee. This organization is dedicated to providing residents with the best integrated emergency management system available. To learn more about C.a.S.H. or emergency preparation, visit their website at www.cashmanitoba.com.

 

The Emergency Management Board of the Rural Municipalities of Headingley, St. Francois Xavier and Cartier are canvassing for volunteers to take on positions within the Municipal Emergency Plan. Click here for more information.

 

White Horse Plains Planning District

On April 6, 2010, the Board passed a new development plan as By-law 1-2008. This followed approval by the Minister of Local Government. The final development plan can be found here. Information, Announcements, and Community Events


Regional Business Mixer
Tonight

Community Futures White Horse Plains invites you to the first regional business mixer Thursday, May 2nd from 6:30-9:30 pm. The event will take place at the Headingley Community Centre, 5353 Portage Ave. There is no charge, however pre-registration is preferred.

Included will be a presentation on "Low Cost, No Cost ad & Promo Strategies" plus the final report on the Cartier, Headingley, SFX Economic Stimulus project.

Landfill Changes

As of April 1, 2013, only plastic garbage bags will be accepted at the Waste Disposal Grounds. Each household is limited to 3 large bags of household waste. Construction and demolition waste and any large items must be taken to another facility, such as the Brady Road landfill site. The explanatory letter can be found here.
